I have suffered noise-induced Tinnitus from working in a noisy factory in 1983-1984, from working in a noisy nightclub in 1984, and exposure to loud bass boomcars just passing by.

Over the years, my hearing has changed to the point where I'm hypersensitive to every noise, but mostly to the low frequency infrasound blasted at me night and day by those idiotic boom cars and thundering exhaust systems. I've had "fluttering" in my ears since 1996, and it can become excruciating to the point where I try to isolate myself to keep away from all noise. I found out this condition was called "Vibroacoustic Disease".

Though I was relieved to find out I was not the only sufferer of this condition, it did nothing to ease my pain. Most Ear, Nose, and Throat doctors and neurologists know nothing of this disease, therefore are unable to treat it. Even when someone is talking near me, every tonation of their voice makes my ears "flutter" and it's quite painful. The wheels of shopping carts, (and I'm not talking about the squeaky wheels) send me into a state of vertigo because there is so much damage to my ears from years of exposure to low frequency infrasound.

 

Please, please, please, I beg of you, BAN boom cars, BAN those thundering loud exhaust systems. Please let those people who live on main streets in America live in  more peaceful homes so they don't have to put their homes up for sale to get away from the noise! This epidemic in America must be wiped out so we can go on living more peaceful and stress free lives.
